My name is Mike Burstein. I am originally from Philly, and moved to Lynchburg, Va. in 1984. I have been teaching music since 1986 professionally. I own and operate a recording studio. I have been playing guitar, bass, and drums for over 30 years. I believe I have the ability to help you become a better player. I would love to talk to you more about this. Please call me and we can talk about taking your playing to the next level.
My influences range from, but are not limited to:
Larry Carlton / Lee Ritenour / Robben Ford
Phil Keaggy / Lincoln Brewster
Eric Clapton
Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, ABB)
Allman Brothers Band
Eric Johnson
Neil Schon (Journey)
Mike has a well-rounded approach to guitar lessons. Most of this stems from his wide range of musical taste, and his eclectic style of playing. I've seen him teach a vast range of music from Country and Neo-Classical, all the way to Jazz and Prog-Rock. If you really want to "up your game" There is really only one person to see.

"I've been involved in music since I was a kid and Mike is one of the most talented musicians I've ever known. Music is like a second language to him, or even a first. What sets him apart is his passion for helping others grow in their musical abilities. As a teacher and a fellow band member, he has a knack for elevating the performance of others. He is able to excel in a range of styles, on a variety of instruments, and I've benefited greatly from our collaborations. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for a trustworthy mentor to help them unlock their musical potential."
